School Meals
We are very pleased to offer delicious, wholesome and healthy lunches to our children that are cooked and served on site. Pupils all share lunchtime, eating together in the hall. The vast majority of children have a school lunch.
We understand that every child has unique tastes and dietary needs. In addition to the main courses, children will be offered other additional options such as cucumber and bread. A choice of various home-baked cakes, fresh fruit and yoghurts is available every day for dessert.
If the hot meal option on a particular day isn't suitable for your child, they can select the sandwich option and specify their preferred filling.
As we progress through the academic year, we will be introducing some new dishes. Our goal is to continually improve our menu and promote healthy eating for all our pupils.
If you have any questions about the menu or your child's meal choices, or would like to discuss anything further, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
School lunches cost £2.40 per day (£12.00 per week). This is payable at the school office.
Our policy at Crosscanonby St John's is that all parents/carers should complete a FSM application form if they feel that they meet the criteria. That way, there is no possibility of children missing out on a daily nutritious meal, and also no possibility that the school will miss out on vital Pupil Premium funding - we use this funding in a whole host of ways to improve your child's learning in school.
Under a Government policy introduced in September 2014, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will all get a free meal, every day, - however we would still like all parents in those year-groups to complete a Free School Meals Form, to show eligibility for Pupil Premium.
