This week, school has been filled with the brilliant sounds of Christmas play songs, carols and lines being polished as everyone is busy rehearsing for next week's Christmas performances. The dedication shown by the children, and the sheer effort from the teaching staff, has been inspiring to watch.

The morning performance, featuring EYFS (Nursery & Reception) and Class 1, will begin at 9:30 am. The evening show, which stars Classes 2 and 3, will take place at 6:00pm. All children performing in the evening show should arrive at school by 5:40pm. Everyone is in for a treat! The children are truly shining and putting on two fantastic shows that I know everyone will thoroughly enjoy. We look forward to sharing their hard work and festive spirit with you.

A quick reminder that tickets are still available for both the morning and evening performances and can be bought from the school office. Finally, a big thank you to our parents for their support this week. Their help with getting costumes ready and helping children learn their lines at home has made such a difference to the smooth running of our rehearsals. We couldn't do it without them!

Even in the run-up to Christmas, the staff remain focused and actively working to improve the children's progress. Speech and language development is the foundation of all literacy and academic achievement, enabling our children to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage fully with the curriculum. Research confirms that simple, frequent conversation and dialogue is the single greatest driver of a child's vocabulary, underpinning all academic success. Just ten minutes of dialogue strengthens neural pathways for reading comprehension and verbal reasoning, making parental involvement a powerful and crucial investment in their long-term speech and language development.
