It's been a very busy and exciting week for a lot of our children! The school has been buzzing with activities that have enriched their learning and experiences.

On Tuesday, we welcomed Stuart from the North Lakes Foodbank, who came with his helper, Timmy Tuna! They shared with us the importance of generosity at this time of year and how our donations can help people, particularly during the festive season.

This perfectly links to our Christian Value of Generosity, encouraging the children to think of others and the positive impact their kindness can have on their wider community.

On Wednesday, it was a day of new experiences for Classes 1 and 2! The children travelled to Nelson Thomlinson School for a fantastic STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) event with the other small schools in our cluster.

They learned about lots of different industries, including structural engineering, project management, and even submarine building! The children designed boats - one group's boat even proved to be unsinkable! They designed new attractions for visitors to our area and built structures to meet specified requirements. The children represented our school impeccably and thoroughly enjoyed meeting, working and playing with the children from other local schools.

Dodgeball was the game of the day on Wednesday! Some children in Class 1 participated in a tournament at Netherhall School and did brilliantly, demonstrating excellent teamwork.

In school, our oldest children showed how they can be fantastic mentors and role models to some of our younger children, teaching them the rules of dodgeball, sharing their tactics, and guiding them during their matches. A great afternoon was had by all!

A huge thank you for your support with the Book Fair. It really has sparked the children's interest in books and reading! Thanks to the huge amount of purchases, school will receive some wonderful new books for the children to enjoy in their classrooms.

Our busy week ended with the rescheduled Water workshop. The children learned how every one of their actions counts, considering positive things they can do to live more sustainably; learning where our water comes from and what happens to our dirty water and crucially how we can save water and why that’s important – a really important lesson for us all!

Twinkles and sparkles are now in the building! Thank you to Miss Baxter for putting up our lovely Christmas tree and to Miss Libby for the fabulous window art – the festive season is truly upon us!

The Christmas performances are coming on nicely – fabulous singing, loud, clear voices, and lots of smiles make for a promise of fantastic entertainment! There are still plenty of tickets available.
