We are half way through the first 5 days of the Big Pedal scheme and we are currently ranked 26th out of all of the registered schools! There are over 1600 schools taking part!
I cannot believe it! Well done to all of those taking part. We are ranked 3rd in the North West and 2nd in Cumbria. Truly amazing!
Remember parents, every ride in counts - even yours if you ride too!
New website on the way!
The website is nearly finished! It will be launching soon and we will be keeping it very much up to date with lots of news, info and relevant documents.
There'll be a mobile app too!
The new website will be updated regularly, hold all the relevant school documents and allow parents to engage more with school. We will be adding absence reporting, a school calendar and even a school app!
I am looking forward to giving you more information soon.
World Book Day
We have celebrated world book day in style here at Crosscanonby St John's School with ALL pupils and staff dressing up as a book character. The response was amazing and the children have had a great time. I will put pictures on the weekly newsletter out tomorrow. Thanks for you support in bringing reading to life.
Safer Internet Day
Class 3 pupils have spent the morning at The Wave centre in Maryport learning about online safety today as it is International 'Online Safety Day'. Our pupils were chosen to speak on CFM news - Listen out for them on the news from 2pm onwards.
A visit from Silverdale!
The children were lucky enough to receive a visit from Gladstone and his friends yesterday! Make sure they tell you all about it!
Children in our Nursery and Reception now have a lot of their learning logged on a fantastic online learning journal called Tapestry. It allows parents and carers to learn more about what their children have been doing in school and also can be updated with their learning experiences at home! For more information look at http://tapestry.info and see Mrs Mogford for your unique login.
In December 2015, following a 10 year-long tenure, Mr Mitchelhill has retired from his post as Headteacher of Crosscanonby St John's Primary School. He will be sadly missed by pupils, staff and parents alike.
I would like to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of this lovely, vibrant and high-achieving school. My name is Mr Steele and I am looking forward to meeting and working with the staff, pupils, parents and local community in the near future.
Look out for a new website in the near future and we plan to be giving out lots of information as we take this school foward in the future.
If you have any questions or would like to visit us then feel free to get in touch.
Mr C Steele
